General Nutrition Companies (GNC), Pittsburgh, PA, has introduced Scan-Diet™ bars and ready-to-drink (RTD) shakes. Scan-Diet bars and RTD shakes can be incorporated into the Scan-Diet program as a low-calorie snack or meal replacement. Available in Mixed Berry, Chocolate and Vanilla, the shakes have the same nutritional value as the original Scan-Diet powder mix packets and are served in single-serving cartons. Bars serve as an alternative to the shakes and are available in Blueberry Cheesecake, Peanut Butter and Chocolate. Two Scan-Diet bars provide the same amount of patented soy protein and fiber found in one original shake.
